He is the CEO/COO of Knowledge Hives sp. z o.o.
He is the former VP of Invertico, a Polish company focuses on implementing and training in project management methodology and supporting tools; he is advising a Polish wireless telecom, Play, in mobile and portal solutions. He holds M.Sc. in Computer Science from Gdansk University of Technology, Poland (awarded with distinction). Arek is an experienced manager focused on setting up companies and fostering their early stages of development.
Sebastian Ryszard Kruk
Sebastian is researching on Semantic Web and Social Networking applied to eLearning domain and managing international research project Corrib.org, which delivers research-based open source solutions.
He is CTO/CRO of Knowledge Hives sp. z o.o.

In 2002, together with prof Henryk Krawczyk he came up with an idea of the semantic digital library, which was later implemented first at GUT as Elvis-DL. Four years ago he helped to establish as a joint research initiative between DERI and GUT called Corrib; he assembled an international team of researchers and programmers with who continues to work on this system, renamed to JeromeDL in fall 2004. He initiated a number of other open source research projects which contribute to the research on semantic digital libraries: MarcOnt Initiative - bibliographic ontology and collaborative portal, the FOAFRealm project - user project management based on open standards, lightweight implementation of HyperCuP protocol, JOnto - Java API for accessing Knowledge Organization Systems, Didaskon - a framework for assembling a curriculum from existing learning objects provided by e-Learning services, MultiBeeBrowse - an adaptive hypermedia faceted navigation component, TagsTreeMaps - a powerful alternative to Tag Clouds, Natural Language Query Templates component, and Semantic Query Expansion algorithm component.
In 2005, as a part of (at that time) FOAFRealm project, he envisioned and delivered first prototype of Social Semantic Collaborative Filtering, a new bookmarks sharing paradigm. Current implementation of SSCF, delivered in 2006 by Adam Gzella, became (together with MultiBeeBrowse, TagsTreeMaps and other components) the cornerstone of the http://notitio.us/ project - a social semantic information sources discovery and sharing service.
Both, JeromeDL and notitio.us, are currently the two major deliverables of Corrib group supervised by Sebastian. Both project are also commercially supported by KnowledgeHives; however, unlike JeromeDL that remained open source, the notitio.us project has been completely re-implemented into a commercial product called digi.me.
He contributes to Open Source community with a number of other projects, including all aforementioned Corrib.org solutions. As an active member of the semantic web research community, he works together with prof. Stefan Decker, prof. Daniel Schwabe, and prof. Henryk Krawczyk. He published many scientific articles in international conferences and journals; serves as a PC member and reviewer to a number of international conferences, workshops and journals.
